From the Buffalo band’s punk beginnings in the mid-’80s to its transformation into heartland rockers a decade later, the Goo Goo Dolls have had a steady climb into the mainstream. They’ve racked up four Grammy nominations and sold more than 10 million albums. The Goo Goo Dolls’ ninth album poises to push the band out of its comfort zone. The band have just announced a UK tour kicking off in Glasgowon November 7th. Their Brixton Academy date is already sold out, so they have added another London show at the Forum, plus a show in Liverpool.
The band are supporting a fan-made video over the official video for their new single “Home” - you can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xemJ62H7KLM. The band’s Johnny Reznik told the Huffington Post, "I've got to be honest, man, I don't really like the official video. You know, there's another video out on YouTube that the fans made. They sent in little video clips and a woman edited them together, and I think it captures a lot more emotion than the official video did…..the fans know what’s best, they always do.”
