Annie Lennox: The "perfect man"

Annie Lennox says that she would have been "perfect as a man".

The Scottish icon admits that way she would have been prepared for the excesses of life on the road whilst touring with The Eurythmics.

"It wasn't my scene. It was like the party was going on in the other room. It would be almost embarrassing if you looked at my rider: a few bottles of water, some raw ginger, some honey and tea, some raw vegetables, and that's about it," she said.

Lennox has recently been nominated for the Barclays Women of the Year Award. The award is given each year to 'an exceptional woman whose personal and public life has been both brave and bold.'

The singer has campaigned relentlessly to raise funds for and awareness of the prevention of HIV and Aids in South Africa. She may feel she would have been a "perfect man" but she is definitely an exceptional woman.

The Barclays Women of the Year Award is announced on October 11. Lennox's single 'Universal Child' is available to download from October 12, and her new album 'A Christmas Cornucopia' is released on November 15.
