British popstar George Michael is a free man after being released from prison.

The 47-year-old singer was sentenced to eight weeks imprisonment in September, when he crashed into a London branch of Snappy Snaps in July, after smoking cannabis.

However, the singer only served 27 days and has been released today.

After completing the first few days of his sentence in Pentonville Prison he was transferred to Highpoint were he spent the remainder of his time.
