Pop legend Lulu has slammed Lady GaGa and said that the controversial singer is only famous because of her "outrageous image".

And despite claiming that she is a fan, the 'Shout' singer, 61, dismissed Lady GaGa's talent and said that she would never have had such success without her endless series of controversial antics.

Lulu – who even dressed up as the 'Bad Romance' singer, 24, for the interview – told Hello magazine: "I don't think anyone would have paid her any attention if it weren't for her outrageous image."

Lulu adds: "That's how far performers have to go these days. Every minute she must be thinking about her next statement. She's very clever because there's a stream of people desperate to be famous."
