X Factor’s Cher in YouTube hate campaign

X Factor contestant Cher Lloyd has become the centre of an internet hate campaign, with a YouTube video branding her a liar and a fraud.

The two minute clip has had nearly a million hits and accuses the 17 year old of passing off other artists lyrics as her own in both the audition process and on the live shows.

Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell have both said the young singer is a breath of fresh air and brings originality to the show but the video says otherwise.

In her boot camp auditions Cher performed a small rap before breaking into Coldplay's 'Viva la Vida'. Before performing she said: “I wrote my own lyrics to the beginning of the song.”

However, the words that she used: “Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, I’m trying to get that Oprah” have been previously used in Swizz Beats song ‘That Oprah’ released in 2008.

The video then goes on to make other accusations of lyric poaching in relation to Professor Green and Coldplay. It ends by saying: “They all do copies but too many people are falling for this originality gimmick.”

Some have defended the teenager from Malvern in Worcestershire, calling the anonymously posted video “malicious and bitter”.
