Johnny Cash’s possessions go under the hammer

Johnny Cash, the famed ‘Man in Black’ of country music who died in 2003, is to have some of his possessions auctioned off in Los Angeles next month.

Items set to go under the hammer include guitars, costumes, hundreds of handwritten lyrics and personal belongings. Of these items, the blue jumpsuit Cash wore to rehearse for the famous San Quentin State Prison concert is expected to raise $3,000-$5,000 (£1,900 - £3,183).

The auction, which takes place on December 5, is expected to raise money for MusiCares, the Recording Academy’s charity for musician in need.
