Westlife welcome Take That reformation

Westlife have embraced the return of Take That as a five-piece group, saying that they need "the competition".

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, band member Nicky Byrne embraced the return of their old arch-rivals, saying: "You need competition to keep you on your toes". He then added: "I love Take That and have been a fan since secondary school."

The Irish boy band will not, however, be following in Take That's footsteps and inviting their former band-mate Brian McFadden to join them again.

“He left because he didn’t like what Westlife were,” Shane Filan explained to the magazine. “Robbie got kicked out of Take That, but Brian left of his own accord. He wasn’t happy. If he did come back, we’d be thinking every day, "Is he happy with what we’re doing now?’
