Prince's UK publicist, Anna Meacham from Purple PR, has confirmed that Prince has been cremated in a small private service for family, friends and musicians.

Meacham said:

"A few hours ago, Prince was celebrated by a small group of his most beloved: family, friends and his musicians, in a private, beautiful ceremony to say a loving goodbye."

Among the people who attended were Sheila E, Larry Graham and Prince's sister, Tyka Nelson.

Prince was found dead at the age of 57 in a lift on the first floor of his Paisley Park residence on Thursday morning (April 21). 

Prince had been rushed to hospital in Illinois six days earlier, while flying home from a concert in Georgia. He was treated and discharged himself about three hours later.
