Vanessa Paradis defends former husband Johnny Depp against violent allegations

French singer and actress, Vanessa Paradis, has defended her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, in light of the restraining order against him by current wife, Amber Heard. Heard has filed for divorce from Depp this week.

TMZ obtained an open letter from the 'Joe Le Taxi' singer in which she writes that Depp was never known to be violent.

The letter reads: "Johnny Depp is the father of my two children, he is a sensitive, loving and loved person, and I believe with all my heart, that these recent allegations being made are outrageous, in all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks like nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years."

The letter is handwritten and signed by Paradis. It is dated May 27.

Amber Heard was given a temporary restraining order against Depp until a full hearing takes place in June.

Paradis was Depp's partner from 1998 - 2012. Their two children are Lily-Rose and Jack, 17 and 14 respectively.
