New xx photo book

The xx's most gruelling six weeks of 2010 have been captured on film and appear in a limited-edition book, 'The Tourist'.

Taken by photographer, Jamie-James Medina, the photographs record the band's six-week stretch in late spring when they toured Japan and the southern US.

Romy Madley Croft, the trio's lone female, remembers feeling home-sick: "None of us had been away from home continuously for so long."

Oliver Sim, the band's bassist and singer recalls sulking behind a pot plant in Philadelphia.

However, the lows were followed by highs including Kyoto bullet-train rides, alligator steaks in Louisiana and rare vinyl record shops in Brooklyn.

'The Tourist' features 40 pages of photography alongside original hand-writtten lyrics by Madly Croft and Sim. The print run is limited to 500 hand numbered copies.
