N.W.A's original manager Jerry Heller has died

The original manager of N.W.A., Jerry Heller, has died of a heart attack at the age of 75.

Heller died in a Los Angeles hospital. He had recently sued the makers of the biopic 'Straight Outta Compton' as he was not happy with how he was depicted in the movie.

Heller was known as one of the early champions of the West Coast gangsta rap sub-genre in the late 80's. He also booked Elton John and Pink Floyd's first major US tours, and represented Marvin Gaye, Ike & Tina Turner, The Four Tops and Otis Redding.

Dr. Dre and Ice Cue both named Heller as the reason that N.W.A split up in 1991. Heller believed in and promoted N.W.A before anyone else was championing the scene and made them into a culture-changing group.

Mickey Shapiro, Heller's attorney, told TMZ that it was the way his client was portrayed in 'Straight Outta Compton' that killed him.

Heller had a heart attack at the wheel of his car which is what caused his car to crash.

Paul Giamatti played him in 'Straight Outta Compton'.
