5th Harmony's Lauren Jauregui thinks Super Bowl's to distract from politics

Lauren Jauregui has weighed in on the Super Bowl game which took place on Sunday 5 February, referring to it as a 'distraction'.

The Fifth Harmony beauty tweeted that she felt the game was a deliberate attempt to take the nation's mind off all the political controversy currently going on under President Donald Trump's new rule.

She wrote: "#happysuperbowlsunday #lol #reality #ignoranceisbliss go ahead and stay distracted"

The singer has always been extremely open and vocal about her activism. Only last week, she published an extremely powerful letter in People addressing Trump’s travel ban, calling the executive order “disrespectful to humanity.” She also took part in the Women’s March in Washington, D.C., the day after his Inauguration Ceremony.

In a recent interview with MTV, Jauregui said: "I’ve always spoken out about the bullshit that’s going on since the beginning of having a platform.

"It’s a very scary time for a lot of people; they feel scared to speak up. There’s so much controversy even speaking up about politics to begin with. People try to discredit you at every single corner, especially if you’re a woman.

"It’s hard as an artist to really speak up about this kind of stuff when you’re trying to be successful and have a career."

It's also hard to not have anything but admiration for Lauren Jauregui for having the guts to stand up for what she believes in.
