New Order to play inside a giant piece of art

Legendary band, New Order, are set to play within a 'unique installation' created by an artist as part of the Manchester International Festival.

Artist, Liam Gillick, will create a structure inspired by the band and the iconic band they came from, Joy Division. Gillick has previously exhibited at Tate Britain and MoMA in New York.

The 18-day festival will begin on June 29.  The concert is called '∑(No,12k,Lg,17Mif)', and will take place on Stage 1 of Manchester's old Granada Studios.

A 12-strong synthesiser ensemble from the Royal Northern College of Music will join them together with Joe Duddell
