Piers Morgan praises Ariana Grande and her One Love Manchester concert

Piers Morgan has praised Ariana Grande and aplogised for criticising her in the wake of the Mancester terror attack, admitting that he "misjudged" her.

The Good Morning Britain co-host was blasted for being insensitive after he posted a series of tweets arguing that Grande should have remained in Manchester in the wake of the attack.

The US pop star had just finished headlining a show at Manchester Arena on May 22 when a suicide bomber denoted his bomb in the foyer as fans were leaving the venue. The explosion killed 22 people and injured 59 others, including children and teenagers.

The singer told fans that she was “absolutely broken,” before flying straight back home to Florida to try and process the event with her family and partner, Mac Miller, which Morgan condemned at the time.

Last night (June 4) however, some of the biggest names in music came together to support Grande for her One Love Manchester concert, which was held in aid of the victims and their families. Among them Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Usher, Take That and Niall Horan.

And Morgan clearly had a change of heart about his opinion, when he tweeted:

"I thought Ariana Grande was wrong to fly off after #ManchesterAttack. But tonight she's putting on a fabulous show. 👏 #OneLoveManchester.

“I’ll say this too about @Ariana Grande, she has a cracking voice. By far the best vocal performance tonight…”.

Grande, who is still only 23-years-old, managed to put together a benefit concert in just over a week, which raised over £2 million. The funds will contribute to an overall £10 million raised for the families affected by the attacks. You can still visit the website to donate to One Love Manchester here 👈
