Tupac photographer suing Kendall and Kylie Jenner

Following the cancellation of the Jenner sisters' "One of One" band t-shirts which featured the images of Pink Floyd, Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Black Sabbath and Metallica, a photographer has delivered a lawsuit regarding his image.

Mike Miller, a TMZ photographer, took the Tupac photo, that Kylie and Kendall Jenner used on T-shirts that cost $125 a pop.

The Doors representatives have sent 'Cease and Desist' letters to the Jenner sisters regarding The Doors image misuse.

Notorious B.I.G's mother has revealed that the Jenner sisters never contacted anyone connected to the estate about using the image of her son.

Tupac's mother tweeted: "I am not sure who told @kyliejenner and @kendalljenner that they had the right to do this. The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me. I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of 2pac and my Son Christopher to sell a t-shirt. This is disrespectful, disgusting, and exploitation at its worst!!!"

It has been pointed out in the media that the Kardashians are very active in protecting their own brand, likenesses and copyright so are fully aware of what the legal requirements are.

In 2015 Rihanna successfully sued Top Shop for using her image without her permission. The court of appeak ruled that Top Shop's unauthorised use of her image amounted to "passing off", that they illegally exploited an unregistered trademark.

Top Shop had been selling the £22 T-shirts in 2012. The fashion retailer had bought the rights for using the photo from the photographer but he was only supposed to take photos of her video shoot and not for merchandise.
