Kesha says new LP is titled "Rainbow" as it represents trying to find color after the darkness

Kesha has revealed that her new album "Rainbow" has been an emotional journey and is dedicated to her fans known as 'animals' for the support they have shown.

Macklemore’s Ryan Lewis, Eagles of Death Metal and Dolly Parton feature on her upcoming album.

This album is the first solo record since her court battle with producer Dr Luke in 2013, after accusing him of sexually assaulting her.

The singer also reveals that her album is titled "Rainbow" because it's symbolic of coming out of the darkness and trying to connect to color again which represents light and joy in her life.

Kesha dropped the lead track from her album last week on July 6. The emotional track is titled "Praying". About the song, she told the Zach Sang Show:

"I just feel like a totally different artist - and not in a good or bad way. I had a great time. The first record was super fun, and that's where I was at. This is where I am now." Earlier she said of the new single:

"I have channeled my feelings of severe hopelessness and depression, I've overcome obstacles, and I have found strength in myself even when it felt out of reach. I've found what I had thought was an unobtainable place of peace. This song is about coming to feel empathy for someone else even if they hurt you or scare you.

"It's a song about learning to be proud of the person you are even during low moments when you feel alone. It's also about hoping everyone, even someone who hurt you, can heal."

"Rainbow" is set to be released on August 11 this year.
