Jay-Z remakes popular US sitcom ‘Friends’ with an all-black cast

Jay-Z dropped his music video for "Moonlight" on Tidal yesterday (August 4).

Taken from his "4:44" album, the video is a remake of the popular '90s sitcom, Friends, only this time it stars an all-black cast of well-known faces.

Starring in the video are Broad City‘s Hannibal BuressGet Out‘s Lil Rel Howery and Atlanta‘s Lakeith StanfieldIssa Rae plays Rachel, Tiffany Haddish plays Phoebe and Tessa Thompson plays Monica.

In the Alan Young directed video, we see the original theme song "I'll be There For You,by The Rembrandts, replaced with Whodini's "Friends".

The cast act out a few scenes from the seminal Friends episode “The One Where No One’s Ready, saying the exact same lines as the original actors.

Tidal subscribers can watch the full video for “Moonlight,” including a bonus one with outtakes. Everyone else will be able to watch it next week.
