Louis Tomlinson performs at Teen Choice Awards and updates about solo music

Louis Tomlinson has revealed that he is planning to drop "two more singles" before his first solo album is released.

The UK singer is hoping to release his debut record soon and says that his fans will "definitely learn a bit more" about him. Asked if he has an LP in the pipeline, he said:

"I'll probably do one, maybe two more singles and then the album. But the album in general is just very honest and conversational. In the early sessions I've had, a lot of songwriters love to write about fairytales and situations that just don't really feel like the bands that I grew up listening to.

"They speak very matter-of-fact and honest, and I think that's cool and that's interesting. Although the fans know loads about me, they'll definitely learn a bit more after the album."

Tomlinson insists that his next release will sound more like himself "lyrically". He said:

"I think my next single will sound the most like me lyrically. I suppose I'm constantly looking at the results of the [current] single, but for me, I am really excited to release that one because it feels more like me lyrically.

"I think we do have the next single, it's just working out when the best time to release that is and that's depending on how this single goes."

The star, who rose to fame with the British boyband One Direction, recently collaborated with Bebe Rexha on his second solo single, 'Back To You', which was released last month on July 21. The pair performed the track at yesterday's (August 13) Teen Choice Awards 2017 in Los Angeles.

He also praised Steve Aoki at yesterday's ceremony, saying he was a "legend" after the pair won the Choice Music Collaboration for their song 'Just Hold On'. In an emotional Instagram video after the event, Tomlinson said:

"Me and Steve won the best collaboration award and that's unbelievable. I just want to thank everyone for their continued support. And obviously a massive thanks to Steve, what a legend you are. Thank you very much."

The 25-year-old recently admitted that he felt "forgettable, to a certain degree" when he was part of One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, but he is now growing in confidence as a solo singer. He told Billboard:

"I just feel like I'm getting stronger and more confident with each single, and I'm definitely still learning as a songwriter and an artist on my own as well. It's exciting for me, and to have the support of the fans is always amazing - I definitely feel like they've got my back.

"If you'd asked me a year or 18 months ago: 'Are you going to do anything as a solo artist?' I'd have said 'absolutely not.'"

Since then Louis Tomlinson was the first member of the band after the hiatus to release a solo single. His collaboration with Aoki, 'Just Hold On', was released in December 2016 and reached No. 2 in the UK Singles Chart and No.52 in the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
