Monday, August 28, 2017 11:28am ET by Pressparty 'Fifth band member' falls back off stage in Fifth Harmony MTV VMA stuntFifth Harmony were back as five girls onstage again last night but just for a couple of seconds. During the opening notes of Fifth Harmony's medley at the MTV VMAs, the four girls throw off their silver hoods whilst a fifth girl catapults herself backwards off the raised stage platform. This seems to be a historical reference to Camila Cabello, the former fifth member of the band who left in December 2016. Wearing Barbarella-esque silver puffa jackets and boots, the band performed a medley of "Down" feat. Gucci Mane, and "Angel" at last night's (August 27) MTV VMAs in Los Angeles. The onstage choreography involving a fifth girl onstage has caused speculation as to what exact message was being made by the stunt. The dancer fell backwards with her hands raised up as if she wasn't expecting to leave the stage so dramatically. Fifth Harmony were nominated for three awards and left with the Best Pop Video Award for "Down" feat. Gucci Mane.
