TOWIE’s Gemma Collins to consult lawyers over Radio 1 Teen Awards fall

TOWIE star Gemma Collins says she will reportedly consult lawyers after falling through a trap door onstage at this year's Radio 1 Teen Awards.

Britain's queen of "memays" appeared at the ceremony on Sunday (October 22) to present the award for Best TV show to Love Island

But after making the presentation, Collins unexpectedly fell down the trap door that Love Island‘s Marcel Somerville, Jamie Jewitt and Amber Davies had just entered the stage from, leaving the audience worrying and in shock.

The much-loved reality star has confirmed that she will be consulting lawyers about the accident, as she was not told about how the Love Island stars would be arriving on stage.

According to The Sun, she said: “I’ve got to consult a lawyer, yeah. The BBC, they’ve not been in touch with any compensation or anything – or even an apology.

“Not at one point did (they) say, ‘If you move to the right, you are going to fall’. (They) didn’t even tell me they were coming up from below.

“It’s the left side of my body that is coming out now with the bruising because I smacked down onto whatever material they had used for that raised platform.

“I am overwhelmed by everyone’s support but if we just take a minute and watch that clip back it could have been the end of The GC. I can’t back down from it.”

In a statement, a Radio 1 press officer said the production company which made the show, gave Collins a full briefing before she went on stage, however they are still awaiting a report about the incident from the show's producers.
