Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars being sued again over ‘Uptown Funk’

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars are facing yet another lawsuit over their popular 2014 hit single, "Uptown Funk".

According to TMZ, the 70s hip hop trio The Sequence are suing the duo for copyright infringement because they claim that the song is way too similar to their 1979 track "Funk You Up". They are reported to be asking for a jury trial and an unspecified sum of finance.

This isn’t the first time "Uptown Funk" has been at the centre of lawsuits. Back in September, Lastrada Entertainment, who own the rights to Roger and Zapp’s 1980 song, "More Bounce To The Ounce," filed a lawsuit against Ronson, claiming that he had copied their track.

Furthermore, two other acts have claimed that "Uptown Funk" was in breach of copyright.

Three members of The Gap Band were added as songwriters to the track as part of a settlement that recognised the influence of their song "Oops! Upside Your Head".

Serbian singer Viktorija also claimed that the hit single copied her song "Ulice Mracne Nisu Za Devojke".
