Louis Tomlinson has revealed that his new album should be out by the summer.

The "Miss You" star tweeted: "More writing today! I know it's taking longer than expected but it's gonna be worth it!"

One of his Twitter followers asked: "Will we get the album in the first half of the year?"

To which Tomlinson replied: "That's what I'm aiming for."

Earlier this month, songwriter and producer Andrew Goldstein tweeted a photo of himself with Tomlinson in the studio as part of Spotify's Secret Genius songwriting programme with the caption: "So much fun writing today at the @Spotify #secretgenius sessions with @Louis_Tomlinson & @Halatrax"

Tomlinson is currently up for the Best Solo Breakout Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards due to take place on March 11.
