Usher hands Gaddafi cash to charity

Usher is the latest pop star to hand over money earned from performing in front of Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, to charity.

The R&B star confirmed that he was paid by the dictator to perform at a 2009 New Year's Eve party hosted by his son, Muatassim Gaddfi on the Caribbean island of St Barts.

An official statement from the 'Confessions' singer read: "I am sincerely troubled to learn about the circumstances surrounding the Nikki Beach St. Bart's event that took place on New Year's Eve 2009. I will be donating all of my personal proceeds from that event to various human rights organisations."

Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Nelly Furtado have also admitted playing private concerts for the dictator.
