Craig David set for Michael Jackson tribute concert

Craig David has confirmed that he will be playing at the forthcoming Michael Jackson tribute concert.

It is scheduled to be held on October 8 in Wales at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

The R&B singer wrote on his official Facebook page:

"I am honoured to announce I will be performing alongside some of the world's greatest artists at the Michael Jackson tribute concert."

David has struggled with his career since his track 'Rewind' was famously mocked on the TV sketch show 'Bo Selecta'.

Ticket registration for the tribute gig was set to open last Thursday (August 4), but has now been put on hold.

The chairman at promoter Global Live Events, Chris Hunt, says they will be announcing an incredible line-up soon, but the registration period has been put on hold as they want people to know who they are registering to see.

The tribute concert has caused concern in the Jackson family, with brothers Jermaine and Randy calling the gig 'inappropriate' and 'ill-timed' as it coincides with the trial of doctor Conrad Murray, who is accused of causing Michael Jackson's death.
