Amy Winehouse's "last sms message"

The former bassist of Towers of London and one of Amy Winehouse's friends, Kristian Marr, recalls getting a text from Amy Winehouse which he only managed to read after her death.

Marr was asleep when the message was sent and by the time he woke up, his friend was dead.

The twenty-seven-year old states that the text read: “I’m gonna be here always xx. BUT ARE YOU OK?xxx”

He tells todays Mirror: “That was so typical of Amy, she was always much more concerned about her friends than herself. The next day I was waiting for her to call me to let me know if she was coming. Instead my dad took a phone call on the beach and ran up to me. He said, ‘I’m sorry but I’ve got to tell you something that is going to be a big shock... Amy’s died’.

“I just couldn’t take it in. Then it hit me and I just collapsed in tears. But that night she visited me in this incredibly vivid dream. I was with friends outside a mate’s front door knocking for him to join us. Suddenly Amy joined us and I was astonished to see her alive. She squeezed my hand, gave me a big smile and said, ‘I’m still here... I’ll always be here’."

He also recollects the last time he saw her: “The last time I ever saw her was about six weeks before she died. We stayed in and watched the movie Scarface. Amy wanted to buy some booze but I convinced her to just drink tea and chill out and watch the film.”
