Gwyneth Paltrow wins an Emmy for Glee

Gwyneth Paltrow won an Emmy for her portrayal of Holly Holliday in the hit series 'Glee'.

Other actors nominated for the award included Tina Fey who was nominated for guest hosting 'Saturday Night Live'.

Paltrow's character was initially a substitute teacher for Will Schuester but returned later as the school's sex education teacher.

In the series she famously sings Cee Lo Green's 'Forget You' as well as 'Nowadays' from Chicago the musical, and 'Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)' by Gary Glitter.

Paltrow did not attend the event as she was at home in London with her children following a tough promotional schedule for her latest film, 'Contagion'.

The ceremony for technical and other achievements in television will air September 17 on ReelzChannel. The main Emmy show, hosted by Jane Lynch of 'Glee' and 'The L Word' airs live September 18 on Fox.
