Ellis-Bextor reveals more album details

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has revealed more details about her forthcoming album.

The singer, who recently announced her new album title as 'Straight To The Heart', described making the LP as "really good fun". She said: "This album came together really nicely. I enjoyed myself a lot with this, it was very relaxed. I worked with some people I have worked with loads of times before. There's a girl called Hannah I've written a lot with, Caty Dennis, Greg Kurstin – good pop pedigree people."

The 30-year-old also told the story behind the album's title, which was originally called 'Make A Scene'. "There's a song on the album I wrote with Ed Harcourt and it's called 'Cut Straight To The Heart Of Me', so I chose it from that."

Ellis-Bextor revealed another album track, called 'Dial My Number', which she described as a song about "someone who has been stalking me by text [message]".

'Straight To The Heart' is scheduled to be released in July.
