Simon Cowell is still looking for a girlfriend.

Cowell told The Sunday Mirror: "I'm happy but I would like a girlfriend."

The X Factor and American Idol founder was dating Carmen Electra in December 2012, 

"I'm now a single man. We spent time together and she is so much fun. But I'd like to find a girlfriend."

The 53-year-old added that he particularly likes British women but doesn't have his eye on anyone in particular.

Cowell was spotted on numerous dates with Electra during the latter part of 2012 and two months ago opened up to Ryan Seacrest about what was going on:

"She's not my girlfriend. We're people who date. She's adorable, isn't she?"

Electra was a guest judge on Britain's Got Talent, and said: "He's so cute. He is adorable. He's actually a sweetheart... I really liked him. I think he's really cool. 

"Now, obviously, he's in [Los Angeles] with X Factor and we started to hang out and we became friends ... I think he's a great guy."

Cowell broke his engagement to make-up artist, Mezhgan Hussainy, last year (2012).

The music mogul will be seen 'getting married' for Comic Relief on March 15.
