Blur to release new single

Blur are set to release their first new music since reforming.

Although the full original line-up reunited in 2009 to play a series of concerts and festivals, the band have never released any new songs until now. To celebrate Record Store Day this month, Blur have recorded new material to be released on a limited edition 7" on 17th April (just 1,000 copies were pressed up).

Blur singer Damon Albarn says: "We want independent record stores to continue - they're an important part of our musical culture. Music is a simple way for Blur to show our support and we hope people like it."

Last summer bassist Alex James said the group had no plans to record new songs.
