Amy Winehouse's death confirmed

Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home in North London today (July 23).

Police confirmed they received a call at 4.05pm calling for help for a woman in Camden. Paramedics were called to the location, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Amy Winehouse's record company, Universal, have confirmed their artist's death to Pressparty.

As of now, the death is "unexplained" but not thought to be suspicious, according to police. There have been reports that an overdose of drink and drugs is the suspected cause of death.

Last month, the 27-year-old singer cancelled her European tour after an onstage breakdown in Serbia. Her website stated: "Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances. Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen."

She had last been seen with her goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield earlier this week as she performed at the iTunes festival.

Winehouse had won the hearts of many at age 20, with her 2003 debut album, Frank. However, 2006's ‘Back to Black’ which shot her to stardom, winning five Grammy Awards.
