Arctic Monkeys admit playing old songs can be "tough"

Arctic Monkeys mainman Alex Turner has confessed that he sometimes finds playing old songs boring.

The band now have a strong back catalogue of hits, with their fifth album 'AM' hitting shelves last year.

However, it seems that Turner often finds running through the band's older material when playing live a little tiresome.

He told the Daily Star: "Sometimes it's tough to get through one of the old ones live. You know, you don't feel like that anymore. When you tell the same joke 600 times, you won't hear what it is any more."

The band meanwhile are due to play two dates at London's Finsbury Park on May 23 and May 24.

It will follow dates in North America, Australia and New Zealand.
