Arctic Monkeys star: 'I can't stop writing songs about women'

Alex Turner, frontman with Arctic Monkeys, has revealed that he can't stop writing songs about females although he has tried.

During a new interview with Esquire magazine, he explained that penning tracks about women is something he loves to do because it's relatable and is something he understands: "I write about women, yes. I haven't really found a way round it yet."

"There's other things I eventually might get round to writing about. But for now... in a sense they're about girls. But in a sense they're about loneliness. And longing."

Turner also opened up about his shyness, adding that he really doesn't feel comfortable being the centre of attention: "I'm in a difficult position in the sense that, preposterous as this might sound, I don't like being the centre of attention. I don't even like opening my birthday presents in front of people, either."
