'When You're Gone' songstress Avril Lavigne is reportedly suffering from 'health issues' and has revealed that's why she has been very quiet lately. 

She sent a direct message on social networking site Twitter to @AvrilMusicChart and explained that she has 'been absent' because she isn't well, but also isn't able to talk about what's going on at the moment.

The DM, which can be seen below, reads: "I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I've been absent. I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."

While Lavigne, who is married to Nickelback's frontman Chad Kroeger, hasn't publicly commented on this, she did respond to a message of well wishes from the same Twitter user and said 'thank you' for the prayers.
