'Sk8er Boi' rocker Avril Lavigne has hit out at the press for suggesting she is seeking treatment in a rehabilitation centre after she recently revealed that she's struggling with 'health issues'. 

Earlier this month, the star asked one of her fans on Twitter to pray for her as she is currently having problems with her health, but refused to disclose the nature of what's wrong with her.

She initially tweeted a private message that was then shared online: "I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I've been absent. I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."

Now, the hitmaker has returned to the social networking site (December 24) to clear up the 'hilarious' rumours that have been circling and explained that she is definitely not in rehab: "The rehab RUMORS are hilarious! The only thing I'm addicted to right now is Bing Crosby. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! and to all a goodnight!"
