Avril Lavigne on 'Fly': 'It has taken on a whole new meaning for me since getting sick'

Hitmaker Avril Lavigne has finally unveiled the music video for her new song 'Fly', which she recorded in support of the upcoming Special Olympics.

During a new interview with Good Morning America, the Canadian star admitted that the song has taken on another meaning now following her Lyme disease diagnosis:

"(The song is) about inner strength and courage... The message of the song is to show the world that they can overcome the challenges and that everyone is meant to shine and this song took on a whole new meaning for me during the time that I've been sick, which was pretty magical."

Earlier this month, the beauty spoke out about her illness and admitted that it left her bedridden for months:

"I could barely eat, and when we went to the pool, I had to leave and go lie in bed. My friends asked, 'What's wrong?' I didn't know. I had no idea a bug bite could do this. I was bedridden for five months. I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk and I couldn't move. I thought I was dying."
