Avril Lavigne thanks fans for support following brutal attack

Avril Lavigne has publicly thanked her friends, family and fans for their support following the vicious attack she suffered over the weekend in Los Angeles. 

The 'When You're Gone' rocker was assaulted on Sunday night (November 6) by 5 people in L.A. and revealed through her official Twitter page that she was left with multiple injuries, including a "black eye, bloody nose, hair ripped out, scratches, bruises and cuts". 

She wrote another message on the social networking site earlier this morning, November 9, and expressed her gratitude to those who have been there for her during this difficult time

"Wanted to thank all of my fans, friends and family for their support over the last couple of days. Saw all ur comments and emails xo thank u."
