Avril Lavigne has opened up on her recent wedding.

As previously reported, the Canadian singer married Nickelback's Chad Kroeger on July 1 in a castle ceremony in France.

It was the second time she has tied the knot, following her 2006 marriage to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley.

However, it seems her latest wedding was just as emotional as her first, with Lavigne telling Hello! that it felt as if she was becoming "complete". She said:

"My body was overtaken by emotion. I saw him and he was so calm and happy. He had a tear coming down and he wiped it away. I felt so good walking to him. It made me feel like a complete woman."

Speaking about the ceremony, Lavigne added: "I wanted it to be over the top. I'm obsessed with castles and I love French decor and goth. I found this castle and it was perfect. I also wanted to make sure it was a crazy vacation and an experience of a lifetime for our guests."
