'What The Hell' pop-rocker Avril Lavigne has confessed that getting to spend time with her husband Chad Kroeger was by far the best present she received for her birthday this year. 

The pair married in the south of France back in July and she turned 29 last week so during an interview with 'The Lowdown with Diana Madison', Lavigne explained that material gifts weren't important this time around:

"Well, we've only been apart for 10 days and ... the best birthday present by far is getting to be with him and see him. We actually have spent the majority of our relationship, like, all of our time, together."

She was also asked about her plans for the future now that she's a wife to the Nickelback frontman and added that the only baby she wants at the moment is her new album:

"You know what, I want to be ready. Focusing on my music, just releasing a new record this is my priority and my baby right now."
