Beyoncé sent a message and flowers to the family of a young Australian fan who lost her battle with cancer.

15-year-old Chelsea Lee James sadly passed away recently after suffering from the disease for ten years.

She was seranaded by Beyoncé on stage in 2009 and they met up again last year in James' home country.

The superstar singer sent a message of condolence to the young fan's family as well as 90 white roses after hearing the news of her death.

The note read: "Donna, love and prayers to you and your family. Chelsea was a beautiful girl and I am so happy I was able to meet her. She touched my heart and I will never forget her."

Referring to her daughter's relationship with Beyoncé, mother Donna James told the Newcastle Herald:

"There was a connection there for sure, there was something about the both of them. Chelsea passed away with a smile on her face, and I know that smile is even bigger now."
