Beyoncé donated Gaddafi gig money

Vocal superstar Beyoncé Knowles has given the cash she earned performing for Libya's Colonel Gaddafi to charity, her publicist has confirmed.

The 'Halo' singer appeared at a private show for members of Gaddafi's family on New Year's Eve back in 2009 and following recent events, has revealed that she donated the money to help Haiti recover from the earthquake it suffered last year.

Beyoncé's publicist explained:

"All monies paid to Beyonce for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year's Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago."

"Once it became known that the third party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause."
