Beyoncé signs massive Pepsi advertising deal

Beyoncé has struck deal worth an estimated $50m with Pepsi that will see the singer and drinks company collaborate on a number of advertising and sponsorship projects.

The '4' star, who has appeared in Pepsi adverts since 2002, has inked the contract in the lead-up to her performance at the 2013 Super Bowl, which is sponsored by Pepsi.

She will feature in a new advert for the company that will air during the American football event in February, with Beyoncé then having her own limited edition drinks cans made in March.

Pepsi meanwhile will sponsor and help promote some of the singer's events next year, including the release of her new album.

In a statement, Beyoncé said: "As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity."

Brad Jakeman, president of PepsiCo's global beverage group added: "Consumers are seeking a much greater authenticity in marketing from the brands they love. It's caused a shift in the way we think about deals with artists, from a transactional deal to a mutually beneficial collaboration."
