Beyoncé to take six-month break

Beyoncé has revealed that she intends to take a six-month break from her music career. The singer, who completes her 11-month 'I Am...' world tour in Trinidad next month, admitted that she wants to do "random things" with her time off. "It's definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries. I'd like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again," she told USA Today. "I'm going to do random things. I want to go to restaurants, maybe take a class and see some movies and Broadway shows." The 28-year-old, who is married to hip-hop star Jay-Z, claimed that she will struggle to keep her mind away from her career on the break. "It will be the hardest thing in the world for me to make myself not do an album and shoot a video and turn it in and say, 'I'm ready!'" she said. "I already have all these melodies and ideas in my head. I have to tell myself, 'Sit down! Sit down'." Beyoncé released third studio album I Am... Sasha Fierce, which spawned eight worldwide singles including 'Single Ladies' and 'Halo', in November 2008. The superstar was recently criticised for performing a private gig for Libyan leader Muammar Gadaffi's son on New Year's Eve.
