Beyoncé covers Vogue's 'Power' issue following GRAMMYs win

Superstar Beyoncé graces the cover of Vogue's March edition, which is also known as the 'Power issue', and posed for an additional shoot with photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

In the accompanying interview, the 'Halo' sensation, who won the Best Traditional R&B Performance GRAMMY last night (February 10), opened up about her baby daughter Blue Ivy and what their relationship is like and also spoke about how her priorities have changed since becoming a mother.

Referring to 1-year-old Blue Ivy, Beyoncé explained that she is "my road dog, my homey, my best friend" and also shrugged off rumours that suggested she had used a surrogate for the pregnancy: "That was very odd. Who even thinks that? Like, who would make that up… You can’t take it too seriously.”

The songstress confessed that her labour was tough, but she employed a specific technique to channel her pain: "I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain. We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication."

Her opinion of family life has changed, too, and she confessed that being a good mother is now her ultimate goal: "I feel like I have something that has grounded me so much more. Family has always been important. I’ve always had my mother and my father and my husband. But it’s just… Life is so much more than… It’s not defined by any of this.”

"It’s very important to me that my daughter is able to experience life and run through the sprinklers and have slumber parties and trust and live and do all the things that any child should be able to do. School visits and lemonade stands and all that stuff. It’s very important for me.”
