Beyoncé has opened up about her mother in a new promotional video.

The singer appears in a short clip to raise awareness of the Chime For Change music event, which is taking place at London's Twickenham Stadium on June 1.

The gig is being organised by Gucci and aims to promote women's rights and create positive debate about female issues.

Speaking about a female who inspires her, Beyoncé said of her mother Tina Knowles:

"My mother's gift is finding the best qualities in every human being. I think her gift is understanding and helping people get to their best selves."

Beyoncé is due to headline the outdoor event, with acts such as Ellie Goulding and Florence + The Machine also set to perform.
