Beyoncé records new song for Epic film

Beyoncé will unveil a new song this month.

The global star has recorded the track 'Rise Up' for the upcoming animated movie Epic.

The 'Grown Woman' singer also provides the voice for one of the film's lead characters, Queen Tara.

'Rise Up' was produced by Hit-Boy and Chase N. Cashe, with the track getting a release via Columbia Records.

Epic, which has been described as a "battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and evil", stars the likes of Colin Farrell and Christophe Waltz and will be released on May 24.

As previously reported, Beyoncé recently said that she was left somewhat emotional after working on the film, revealing: "I literally had tears when I played the voice. There was a scene where Queen Tara picks out her pod and I just imagined seeing my child."

Beyoncé meanwhile is expected to release her forthcoming new solo album later this year.
