Global sensation Beyoncé has written a public letter to sports star Serena Williams praising her strength and motivation.

The 'Halo' beauty shared the post on her official personal website and addressed the tennis ace, who recently won the French Open women's championship last week, as 'inspirational'.

She wrote: "Stunt on the Serena. 31 and in your prime (sic)". You have no idea how much you inspire all of us women. I am so proud of you."

Williams' (pictured below) win was her 16th Grand Slam title. Beyoncé, meanwhile, is still on her 'Mrs. Carter' tour and will return to the UK in August to headline V Festival (August 17-18) in both Essex and the West Midlands.
