Beyoncé has got rid of her trademark long locks in favour of a shorter style.

The superstar singer unveiled the look in a series of Instagram photos as she surprised her fans.

The 'Grown Woman' talent can be seen with a blonde pixie-style cut that is short at both the the back and the front.

It got a mixed response from fans, however, with one Instagram user commenting:

"Omg I'm actually gonna cry wtf it looked soo much better long ommgggg."

Another user meanwhile simply said: "You look so beautifuuul!"

Beyoncé follows fellow superstar Rihanna in cutting her hair short, with the 'Stay' star chopping off her locks only a few days ago.
