Beyoncé surprised fans on Friday night (December 13) by adding a new track to the set list of her 'Mrs Carter' live show.

For her concert at Chicago’s United Center the Texan songstress treated the audience to the debut airing of the track ‘XO’ from her surprise self-titled new album.

Before performing the track as part of her ‘Mrs Carter Show World Tour’ Beyoncé told the crowd:

“I'm gonna sing this song, which is a brand new song. It hasn't even been out for 24 hours. I want to sing this to ya'll because it was written for ya'll.”

She added: “This is the first time. Something I'll never forget.”

The ‘Grown Woman’ star unexpectedly released her fifth studio album on December 13, comprised of 14 new tracks and 17 videos.

Beyoncé is set to visit the UK in February and March 2014 for live arena dates when this year’s X Factor winner will be her support act.
