PRESS ON D∆WN:
"she stands apart not only for her abstract production, but also as a black woman who makes challenging pop music with soul... As a singer, songwriter, producer, entertainer, set designer and animator, D∆WN owns her creativity, drawing a line through Afro-futurists like Sun Ra, Larry Heard and Erykah Badu." - NPR

"She manages to live inside her own genre, somewhere between futurism and ancient ballads, between Janelle Monáe, Rihanna, and Adele" - PITCHFORK

"one of music's boldest thinkers." - TIME

"'REDEMPTION' is by far her best and most visionary effort yet." - ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

"['REDEMPTION'] pulls off the noble feat of streamlining the cosmic pop-warrior stylings of the first two into a formidable stab at reaching a wider audience, without ever coming across as pandering." - NEW YORK MAGAZINE

"dazzling, genre-defying" - BILLBOARD

"spaced-out and fascinating" - STEREOGUM

"['REDEMPTION'] mixes her fiery, warped and voguey alt R&B/dance sonic tapestry--as well as some glorious 70s space rock moments, and jazzy interludes--a refreshing surge of artistry we need right now" - PAPER

"It's an intricate, boundary-melting trip through R&B, dance music, and electronic pop, with an unexpected twist into hard rock" - SPIN

"Running in tandem with its multifaceted subject matter is Richard's ability to draw from a bottomless well of genres...This is all to say that Redemption is not just a triumph in musical transcendentalism (no boxes in sight for Richard here)-it's an unapologetic celebration of the self." - PASTE
