Damon Albarn says new Adele music is 'very middle of the road'

Damon Albarn has offered a preview of Adele's new music - and he says it is "middle of the road".

The 'Someone Like You' star has been rumoured to be working on new tracks for some time.

However, no release date for the follow-up to 2011's '21' has been forthcoming.

Blur singer Damon Albarn told The Sun that he has contributed some music to the project.

He revealed: "Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her. And I’m not a producer, so I don’t know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don’t think so.

"Let’s wait and see. The thing is, she’s very insecure. And she doesn’t need to be, she’s still so young."

Albarn continued to say that he has heard other new Adele music - and it doesn't seem like he's too impressed.

The Brit said: "I heard the work she did with my friend Brian, aka Danger Mouse. It’s very middle of the road."
